Oh yay! I'm so happy for your update! When you're in NZ, you should come visit me! I don't know if you know, but I've been living in Australia for 6 years, and just became a citizen, so I think it's permanent. I'm looking forward to what you'll share here on Substack.
Google maps says direct flights from Brisbane to Aukland are 3hours... Hmm. Oh, but Auckland to Brisbane is 4 hours! Tradewinds, I guess. I should plan a trip. I haven't been to NZ since 2019. (Can't this year, though).

No, they really aren’t. Alas. I always feel like if someone comes as far as NZ, it’s only a hop to Australia, but it’s still a 3 hour flight.
